Work

I have recently graduated from the University of Bristol with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering, and am looking for employment. I am hoping to find a job based in the UK within the transport or oil and gas industries. The problem is that I am quite picky, I need something that will challenge me technically and help me to become chartered with the IMechE (Instute of Mechanical Engineers) as soon as possible. I have just applied for Associate membership, so hopefully I will soon be able to put AMIMechE after my name.

I've included my CV on this page in case you might want to have a look at it (I don't know why). You can also see what I did in my 3rd and 4th years at university.

Prediction and measurement of torsionally loaded shrink-fits

This page is dedicated to my final year group project at university. It involved investigation into the failure of a large gear assembly (0.6m shaft diameter) used by Shell in a gas turbine gearbox.

Certificate

My main task in the project was to produce a numerical solution to calculating stress profiles in shrink-fit assemblies. This is explained in more detail in chapter 3 of our written report.

We did quite well at this project, and won the departmental prize for 'best final year industrial project'.

Relationship Between Cutting Forces and Physical Properties of Cheese and Lard

This is a seperate website. This was the first site I ever did, I submitted it as part of my project. It had to be small enough to fit on a floppy disk, so it's pretty 'basic'.
